Refund and Cancellation Policy

1. Overview - Our Role

BookaTicket ("we," "us," or "our") operates as a ticketing technology platform connecting Event Organizers with Attendees. We provide:

• Event listing and ticketing infrastructure
• Payment processing facilitation
• Ticket distribution and delivery systems
• Customer support tools

2. Ticket Refunds - Organizer Responsibility

2.1 Who Controls Refunds

The Event Organizer has sole and complete control over:

• Whether refunds are offered for their events
• The terms and conditions of their refund policy
• Processing and issuing refunds to attendees
• Timeframes for refund requests
• Reasons for which refunds may be granted

2.2 Common Organizer Refund Policies

Event Organizers typically choose one of the following refund policies (always check the specific event page before purchasing):

• No Refunds: All ticket sales are final (most common)
• Refund Until [Date]: Refunds available up to a specific date/time before the event
• Event Cancellation Only: Refunds only if the Organizer cancels the event
• Flexible Refund: Refunds available with certain conditions or fees
• Full Refund Anytime: Refunds available at any time before the event (rare)

2.3 How to Request a Ticket Refund

Since the Event Organizer controls refunds:

1. Review the event's refund policy on the event page
2. Contact the Event Organizer directly using:
   • Contact information on your ticket confirmation email
   • Organizer contact details on the event page
3. Provide your order number and explain your request
4. The Organizer will review and respond according to their policy
5. If approved, the Organizer will initiate the refund

3. Platform Fee Policy

3.1 What Platform Fees Cover

The platform fee (typically 2-5% of ticket price plus a small fixed fee) covers:

• Transaction Processing: Payment gateway fees and secure payment processing
• Technology Infrastructure: Hosting, maintenance, and security of the platform
• Ticket Generation & Delivery: Creating and sending digital tickets via email/SMS
• Customer Support: Support services available to both Organizers and Attendees
• Fraud Prevention: Security systems to protect against fraudulent transactions
• Platform Features: QR code generation, check-in systems, analytics, etc.

3.2 Why Platform Fees Are Non-Refundable

• Services are provided immediately at the time of purchase
• Payment gateway charges cannot be recovered
• Technology and infrastructure costs are incurred regardless of event attendance
• Support services and systems were made available to you

3.4 Rare Exceptions to Non-Refundable Fee Policy

Platform fees may be refunded ONLY in these exceptional circumstances:

• Technical Error by BookaTicket: Our system malfunction caused duplicate charges or incorrect fees

4. Event Cancellations and Postponements

4.1 Cancelled Events

When an Event Organizer cancels an event:

• The Organizer is required to notify all ticket holders immediately
• The Organizer must issue refunds for the ticket price according to their stated policy
• The Organizer processes refunds directly to attendees
• Platform fees remain non-refundable as services were already provided

4.2 Postponed or Rescheduled Events

• Your ticket remains valid for the new date unless the Organizer states otherwise
• Refunds for rescheduled events are at the Organizer's discretion
• Check your email and the event page for rescheduling announcements
• If you cannot attend the new date, contact the Organizer to request a refund

4.3 BookaTicket's Role in Cancellations

BookaTicket's limited involvement includes:

• Providing tools for Organizers to notify attendees
• Facilitating communication between Organizers and Attendees
• Monitoring for fraudulent cancellations
• Assisting with disputes when Organizers fail to honor their policies

Important: BookaTicket cannot force an Organizer to issue refunds or compensate attendees from our own funds. We are not financially liable for Organizer actions.

5. Organizer Account and Service Fees

5.1 Organizer Subscription Plans

• Free Plan: No subscription fee, only per-ticket platform fees apply
• Monthly Subscription: Can be cancelled anytime; no refund for partial months used
• Annual Subscription:
  • Full refund if cancelled within 14 days with no events published
  • Pro-rated refund available for first 90 days (minus 15% admin fee)
  • No refund after 90 days or if significant usage occurred

5.2 Per-Transaction Fees

• Charged per ticket sold, deducted from Organizer's payout
• Non-refundable once transaction is processed
• Covers platform infrastructure and payment processing

5.3 Premium Features and Add-ons

• Featured event listings
• Advanced analytics and reporting
• Custom branding options
• Priority support

These are generally non-refundable once activated, but may be refunded within 7 days if there are technical issues preventing use.

6. Payment Processing and Disputes

6.1 Payment Gateway Charges

• Third-party payment gateways charge 2-3% transaction fees
• These fees are deducted during processing and cannot be recovered
• Payment gateway fees are separate from BookaTicket's platform fee

6.2 Disputed Charges

If you notice an unauthorized or incorrect charge:

1. Contact us within 30 days with your order details
2. We will investigate within 48 hours
3. For legitimate billing errors, we will process corrections immediately
4. For ticket refund disputes, we will help facilitate communication with the Organizer

6.3 Chargeback Consequences

• Immediate account suspension pending investigation
• Cancellation of all active orders and tickets
• Chargeback fee (₹500-₹2,000) assessed to your account
• Permanent platform ban if fraudulent chargeback is confirmed
• Legal action may be taken for intentional fraud

7. Ticket Transfers

As an alternative to refunds, some Organizers allow ticket transfers:

• Transfer your ticket to another person at no additional cost
• Must be done through the BookaTicket platform
• Check the event page to see if transfers are permitted
• Original purchaser remains responsible for compliance with event terms

Unauthorized Resale Prohibited:

• Reselling tickets above face value (scalping) is prohibited
• Tickets sold through unauthorized channels may be cancelled
• No refunds for cancelled tickets due to unauthorized resale

8. Special Circumstances and Exceptions

8.1 Force Majeure Events

During extraordinary circumstances beyond anyone's control (pandemics, natural disasters, government restrictions, etc.):

• Standard policies may be temporarily modified
• BookaTicket may waive platform fees on a case-by-case basis
• Event credits or vouchers may be offered as alternatives
• Specific policies will be communicated via email and website announcements

8.2 Fraudulent Event Organizers

If BookaTicket verifies that an event was fraudulent or unauthorized:

• We will work with payment processors to recover funds
• Both ticket price and platform fee may be refunded
• Investigation and recovery may take 30-60 days
• Report suspicious events immediately to contact@rushivaryasolutions.in

9. Consumer Rights Under Indian Law

This policy operates in accordance with:

• Consumer Protection Act, 2019
• Information Technology Act, 2000
• Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007
• Reserve Bank of India (RBI) payment guidelines

Your Rights Include:

• Right to clear information about refund policies before purchase
• Right to dispute unauthorized or incorrect charges
• Right to file complaints with consumer forums
• Right to fair treatment and honest business practices
